Meet Max
Hi, I'm Max Mendez and the teacher at Mendez VocalWorks. I have over 30 years of experience as a professional singer, college professor, and voice studio teacher. I've sung around the globe in a variety of styles ranging from opera and musical theatre, and from jazz to bluegrass. I'm excited to work with students of all levels and help them connect to their unique voice and artistry.
My Story
I started singing at an early age and was lucky enough to take voice and guitar lessons from age 11. I studied music in college and was able to find myself working as a professional singer in Los Angeles. After moving to the Inland Northwest, I continued my music career as an active performer in the Northwest as well as a successful choral conductor and teacher. I spent 18 years as the Director of Choirs and Vocal Activities at North Idaho College. Throughout that time, I worked with singers of all ages and experience levels to help them reach their artistic goals. I'm proud to bring my experience and support to Mendez VocalWorks. The mission of Mendez VocalWorks is to help each student find a healthy outlet for their artistic expression. Additionally, the work at Mendez VocalWorks is meant to build each student's confidence in their abilities, wherever they are in their artistic development.

I've worked hard throughout my career to continue learning and staying up to date on the latest in vocal science. As a Licensed Body Mapping Educator, my work in the studio includes helping each musician learn about healthy body movement and how it relates to sound production and artistry.
